The final step in outfitting a cage is to add some fun toys. Toys are vital to
your bird’s health and emotional well-being. Toys are considered a requirement
when setting up your bird’s cage and are required as a regular part of a
regular maintenance program. Toys come in many varieties. Color and texture are
two important considerations when choosing toys. Toys can be made of wood, leather,
cloth, chain, metal, plastic, acrylic, and many other materials. All of the toys
we offer are safe, non-toxic, and inspected & approved by a certified avian
veterinarian.
You will find that birds have favorite colors (yes, birds see color very well)
and textures. Some textures are important to beak conditioning and good health.
Giving soft wood blocks, leather, mineral stones, and other similiar materials
will encourage your bird to work its beak and prevent it from becoming overgrown.
Toys encourage your bird to exercise, which is very important for your birds'
heath and happiness.
We recommend "rotating" your birds toys every 3-4 weeks...either with new toys or older toys they haven't completely "dismantled" yet. This keeps your birds from getting bored with the same 'ole toys day after day.
